Welcome to VHS – Born from Frustration, Built for Riders

In 2019, VHS founder Ferris Fairbairn was working as an electrician with zero product design experience, just a stubborn determination to fix a recurring problem: chain slap. After his store-bought chain slap device fell apart for the third time, he refused to shell out for another overpriced, over-the-counter option. So, he made his own. That no-frills solution snowballed into something bigger. VHS was born.

From the beginning, VHS has been about solving real problems with simple, effective products that work. No fluff, no gimmicks, just results. What started in a Queenstown bedroom quickly gained traction with riders around the world—from local parks to the World Cup circuit.

Backed by RideWrap as of Summer 2025, VHS enters a new chapter—staying true to its roots while gaining the resources to grow, improve, and support more riders and DH teams than ever before.
